JSJ Joins Forces with Fire Department for Emergency Drill: Building Safety Through Practice, Safeguarding Intelligent Manufacturing

Safety is the lifeline of high-quality enterprise development. For the functional silica manufacturing sector, strengthening the safety production defense line is not only a responsibility, but also the foundation of sustainable growth.

Recently, the production base of Jinsanjiang (Zhaoqing) Silicon Materials Co., Ltd. (JSJ) successfully conducted a full-process, combat-oriented fire emergency drill in collaboration with the local High-Tech Zone Fire and Rescue Department. All employees at the base participated throughout the exercise, using the drill to enhance learning and drive improvement, thereby comprehensively strengthening safety management and emergency response capabilities.

The drill adhered to the core principles of “closely aligning with actual production conditions and focusing on real-world effectiveness.” It fully incorporated key factors such as material characteristics and process features specific to functional silica production, establishing a complete training system that combined “theoretical instruction + hands-on practice.”

The exercise began with professional firefighters delivering systematic training on critical fire prevention knowledge, scientific handling of initial fire outbreaks, and self-rescue/mutual rescue techniques during evacuation. Particular emphasis was placed on analyzing potential safety risks in the manufacturing process and targeted prevention measures, deepening everyone’s understanding of the principle that “a small fire is a big deal.”

In the subsequent hands-on phase, firefighters demonstrated key procedures tailored to real emergency needs: rapid deployment of fire hydrants, the standard “pull-pin-aim-squeeze-sweep” operation of extinguishers, and correct use of smoke masks. Specialized guidance was also provided for emergency response challenges specific to silica material production.

Employees, organized by work teams, conducted group practice under the on-site correction of professionals. They completed the full sequence of fire alerting, initial firefighting, and safe evacuation, effectively transforming theoretical knowledge into practical skills and significantly improving overall proficiency and teamwork in emergency response.

During the debriefing session, company management and the fire rescue department jointly reviewed the exercise, recognizing notable improvements in full participation and process coordination, achieving the expected goal of “enhancing prevention through drills.” At the same time, areas for further optimization were identified, particularly in cross-department emergency coordination and proficiency in handling complex scenarios.

Production safety is a core component of corporate ESG practices. Moving forward, JSJ will use this drill as an opportunity to refine its emergency response plans in line with industry standards and management requirements, promote regular and specialized emergency drills, and establish a safety management system where “everyone is responsible and the entire process is controllable.”
